Not one, but two high-energy restaurant bars come to Deep Ellum: Called The sports club and sectionThey are side-by-side venues opening at 2516 Florence Street just off the Good Latimer Expressway and will make their highly anticipated debut on April 15th, according to a release.
The venues are a new concept from SoClutch Group, a hotel company that owns bars in Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, and Houston. They will be 22,000 square meters and offer two atmospheres for dining, drinking and private events:
Blüm will be a Vegas-style day and night club serving Italian fusion from the south while also offering bottle service with a DJ-controlled, energetic atmosphere.
The Sporting Club will focus on sporting events and fun outdoor games like corn hole, table tennis and table games. Large-format cocktails and divisible snacks are offered.
The room was once a Sherwin Williams paint shop, which moved down the block, though the 40-foot sign on the corner of Florence and Good Latimer has been preserved. The location has been extensively converted into an open concept that includes an extra-large outdoor area.
All rooms have sports streaming, food and a DJ, including a lounge area that combines the spirit of the Sporting Club and Blüm. Unique cocktails and games, including vintage-style video games, will be motifs.
“We’re excited to bring The Sporting Club and Blüm to the Deep Ellum region. We’ve created a venue for the everyday sports spectator, girls’ night out and for people who want to level up and party day and night, Club Blüm says Rico Taylor, owner of the SoClutch Group.
The two venues are in one place that can serve a wide range of times, from lunch and dinner to nightlife to brunch. The guests can move between the rooms and have different social experiences.
Blüm is a botanical wonderland that’s filled with a sophisticated, moody atmosphere, combining white-paneled millwork with tropical palm wallpaper that give it the feel of a garden room.
The Sporting Club is an interpretation of nostalgia and athletics with vintage patterns built into the entire space for a comfortable yet energetic atmosphere.
Some elements have been carried across the room to keep it cohesive, such as the use of white and green to create visual unity.
The extensive cocktail program offers separate menus for the Sporting Club and Blüm, which are inspired by the appearance of the room.
Blüm’s drinks menu includes a mix of unique libations with botanical and plant highlights such as lavender bliss with gin, lavender, lemon, lime and egg white or the night in Bangkok with vodka, Thai basil, vanilla and Hellfire Bitters.
The Sporting Club menu includes four frozen drinks, including Peach Blossom Froze and Strawberry Sangaree with Cruzan Light Rum, red wine, strawberry, orange and nutmeg. The cocktails in the Sporting Club include the hunting dog with vodka, aperol, honey, lemon, grapefruit and salt, as well as the habanero fresca made from tequila, cucumber, basil, lime and habanero with a tagin rim.
Additional brunch-inspired drinks are available Saturday and Sunday. Beer and mimosa towers for a minimum of four people are offered at each venue. The drinks program also includes an extensive wine and beer menu.
The evening menu includes starters such as the burrata bruschetta, the caramelized onion dip and a fry flight with a selection of dipping sauces. Dinner includes pizza specialties with homemade crusts, handhelds such as cheeseburgers, filet sandwiches or hot & spicy chicken sandwiches. The menu includes starters such as filet mignon, Chilean sea bass and double cut pork chop. Dessert options include confetti cakes from the local Daisy Cakes bakery. The brunch menu includes traditional breakfast items like omelette, eggs benedict, and breakfast with sweet options like blueberry almond buttermilk pancakes and Italian French toast.
